Administrative Rules.
The administrative rules define the specific standards, criteria, and guidelines that govern the Department's operations. The administrative rules are based on the legislation defined in the Iowa Code. The rules are created through a process of confirmation by the Department, the public, and legislative rules committees.

Code of Iowa - Selected Chapters.
Chapters 216B, 216C, and 216D of the Code of Iowa detail the mandates of the Department for the Blind, the rights of persons who are blind or partially blind and persons with physical disabilities, and the operation of food service in public buildings.

Randolph - Sheppard Act.
Text of the federal law that gives blind individuals priority for vending and cafeteria operations in federal facilities.

Section 508
Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act to require Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities.
